With its elegant and modern exterior lines, combined with the luxurious, contemporary style of the interiors, the Jongert 500LE is a perfect blend of pleasing aesthetics and a superior level of comfort. The 500LE is the successor to the much-admired Jongert 3900MY Lucia-M.
In cooperation with Azure Naval Architects and Guido de Groot, Jongert developed the 500LE, a 50 meters long motor yacht with a gross tonnage of slightly less than 500 GT. In addition to the fine looks and superior comfort levels you would expect from a Jongert, the new 500LE will showcase a raft of technical innovations. This includes an eco-friendly hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system, offering very low noise levels and significant fuel savings. It is even possible to sail for several hours on the lithium-ion batteries alone. Other green features include a low-resistance hull design, energy saving controls and the extensive use of LED lights. The additional flexibility offered by a hybrid set-up has been optimised by placing the engine room in the fore ship, which is also the location for the tenders. Launching of the tenders takes place via giant hatches on either side of the hull using a sliding davit. The ‘free’ space in the aft vessel generated by this layout has been used to create an impressive ‘beach area’, which is extended by opening up the stern platform and two flaps in the side of the hull.
The outdoor relaxation options continue in the lounge area with two fold-out balconies that are accessible via large sliding doors. The indoors-out effect is quite exceptional. Another unusual system on board the 500LE is the telescopic anchor system. This allows the yacht to be moored quickly and easily in depths of up to 15 metres. The anchor system also makes it completely safe to swim close to the boat as it prevents her from drifting or turning. This smart solution typifies the way that every aspect of the Jongert LE 500 has been carefully considered to maximise the comfort and pleasure of all who are privileged enough to sail on board. The new Jongert flagship can accommodate 10-12 passengers and up to 10 crew.
